Barna research found that 94% of pastors believe churches should have guidelines for responsible AI use. Of those, 45% favor a formal policy, while 49% prefer informal guidance. However, only 21% say their own church currently has AI guidance in place. Just 4% report having a formal policy, while 17% have informal guidelines. Most pastors already use AI, primarily for behind-the-scenes tasks such as brainstorming, research, administrative work, and developing small-group materials. Pastors are less comfortable using AI for sermons, Scripture interpretation, prayers, worship songs, and especially spiritual counseling.
Analyst Comments: The gap between pastors’ recognition of the need for AI guidance and the limited number of churches with policies highlights a potential area of concern. Churches may benefit from establishing clear expectations for responsible AI use before adoption becomes more widespread.
Key areas for consideration include:
The Combat Antisemitism Movement reported that 262 demonstrations and related events are planned across 37 countries between October 1 and October 14, 2026, with 45 events planned in the United States. The organization identifies many of the events as “anti-Israel,” although that designation encompasses a broad range of political and activist groups and does not indicate that participants are violent or involved in terrorism. The article identifies 87 events as medium or high risk and notes that 45 are planned near Israeli embassies, consulates, or other Israeli-affiliated properties.
Analyst Comments: For Jewish organizations and other potential targets, the broader concern is the security risks that can accompany large demonstrations. These risks may increase when opposing groups are present.
Increased activity around the October 7 anniversary may contribute to:
Organizations located near planned demonstrations may benefit from monitoring local event activity. They should also consider how protests could affect access, traffic, personnel, and normal operations.

The Gate 15 Security Sprint is a weekly rundown of the week’s notable all-hazards security news, risks and threats and some of the key focus areas for organizations to consider behind the headlines. Gate 15 team members discuss physical security, cybersecurity, natural hazards, health threats and other issues across our environment.
The above Gate 15 Weekly Security Sprint Dave and Andy cover a timely one heading into the midterms: a wave of politically motivated threats and arrests across the country (plots against the president, Pentagon officials, places of worship, and foreign bounties on Americans) signals rising election-season violence risk, exactly one month out from midterms; a strong cue to dust off hostile-event response plans now. Also discussed a NewsGuard report documenting 906 fake news stories impersonating 163 legitimate outlets (BBC, Politico, Bloomberg) as part of ongoing Russian influence operations, a basics-first security checklist worth applying well beyond its church-security origin, and a growing measles outbreak alongside continued Citrix NetScaler vulnerability exploitation — the throughline being that fundamentals and preparedness, not just vigilance, are what carry organizations through this heightened-threat stretch
