Montgomery County to give nearly $1M to non-profits experiencing hate crimes (fox5dc.com)
A Maryland county, bordering Washington, DC, is trying to get security-grant money distributed as soon as possible.
“We want to have our facilities here in Montgomery County have an immediate infusion of dollars to help address the security concerns,” said Dr. Earl Stoddard, the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer with the Montgomery County Executive’s Office.
Many grants are for security cameras and hardening facilities, but Montgomery County grants also include funds for armed security.
Applications for Montgomery County, FY 2024, grants are due by November 10. For more details visit here.

Analyst Comments:
While the current Israel/Hamas conflict has raised the threat environment, threats will not go away in the future. Faith-Based Organizations should consider applying for grants to improve security at their houses of worship, schools, and other facilities.
