CISA Active Shooter Guidance 2024 Webinar
This condensed webinar is intended for the whole community, including Faith-Based Organizations.
The information for this webinar is in CISA’s October Emergency Services Sector Information Sharing Bulletin. Other items in the bulletin may be of interest.
From CISA:
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, 10:30am – 12 noon (ET), please join the Region 2 National Preparedness Division, in partnership with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for a condensed webinar on steps you and your employees can take during an active shooter event.
Preparing employees for a potential active shooter incident is an integral component of an organization’s incident response planning. Because active shooter incidents are unpredictable and evolve quickly, preparing for and knowing what to do in an active shooter situation can be the difference between life and death.
Who should attend? The whole community, workplace management, federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies, community and faith-based organizations.

Analyst Comments:
The webinar is intended for the whole community, including Faith-Based Organizations (FBO). The webinar is a good opportunity for FBOs to improve their planning for an active shooter event. It may also increase an understating of how first responders and other organizations plan and respond. This may improve interactions and resilience if an event occurs.
While this webinar is hosted by FEMA Region 2, anyone can attend since it is a webinar. Faith-Based Organizations in CISA Region 2 (NY, NJ, USVI, PR) can become familiar with the speaker, Jose DosSantos, a CISA Protective Security Advisor in CISA Region 2.
