FB-ISAO Member Recognition

The Faith-Based Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (FB-ISAO) works with organizations across the community of faith to provide and share all-hazards information, analysis, operational coordination, preparedness, and other capabilities – combined with member collaboration and expertise – to help members reduce their risk while enhancing security and resilience. This includes member forums, reports, activities, and liaison to the broader information sharing community including critical infrastructure information sharing and analysis centers (ISACs), other trusted information sharing communities, and government partners at all levels.

Being a member of FB-ISAO can extend the scope and capabilities of your organization’s security and risk management activities and help bolster threat and risk awareness, preparedness capabilities and help connect you to organizations and insights that may not be readily available to individual organizations, particularly smaller faith-based organizations with limited staff. FB-ISAO is a “force multiplier.” Extremists and cyber threat actors share information. To counter their efforts and enhance our own security, preparedness, and resilience, we should too!

Members can share on a real-time basis and then take that information, intelligence, and analysis and use it in their environments to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the cyber, physical, health, and natural threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk.

The FB-ISAO analyst team is largely in a supporting role – members should be driving initiatives. In that light, members should be recognized for their efforts – the members of FB-ISAO, by way of participation in working groups and other informal groups, drive the valuable information sharing, contribute to event planning, lead discussions, and develop guidance or products.

In February 2022, the FB-ISAO held its first community meeting. At that meeting, members heard about the Top Five Threats for 2022, participated in an immersive session on the use of our collaborative workspace. And finally, and most importantly, recognized one member for his contributions. During the meeting, we announced that going forward, members will be able to nominate their peers. That’s important! In a peer-to-peer sharing environment, the folks who are participating should be the ones who decide ‘what is’ and ‘who is’ valuable to that process.

Ahead of our May 2022 community meeting, we are launching a tool to help capture those nominations. The tool resides on our collaborative workspace. Members can use the “Recognize Your Peers” workflow from our collaborative workspace on FB-ISAO Slack. See the images below for steps to follow. If members have questions, they can reach out to the team.

Submissions will be tallied ahead of each community meeting and the winner will be announced during the meeting. In addition to being recognized, the winner will receive a certificate of appreciation and a $50 gift card. Any member can be nominated; however, members can only be recognized once in a calendar year.
