US Secret Service Live Virtual Training Events
From the US Secret Service Virtual Monthly Training Registration Event website:
The U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) is pleased to offer live recurring virtual training events on violence prevention to community safety stakeholders throughout the year.
The first two training topics are:
- Enhancing School Safety Using Behavioral Threat Assessment
- Preventing Mass Attacks in Our Communities
There are more details on the US Secret Service Virtual Monthly Training Registration Event website.
Analyst Comments:
The US Secret Service offers three iterations of both training topics. This training runs from December through May. Many opportunities are provided for those concerned about communities of faith safety.
Many Faith-Based Organizations operate schools. Among others, the Enhancing School Safety Using Behavioral Threat Assessment is aimed at teachers, administrators, counsellors. Of special interest is that the training will discuss “…how some schools discovered and stopped plots before violence occurred”.
During the Preventing Mass Attacks in Our Communities training, the NTAC researchers will discuss mass attacks in public and semi-public spaces, including houses of worship and schools. Among others, the training is aimed at faith-based community leaders.
Additionally, NTAC has published several reports on school security and mass attacks in public spaces.
