Son mourns beloved father electrocuted while trimming trees outside church

7 WSAW-TV reports:

A grieving Texas family says a landscaper and father electrocuted while trimming trees died doing what he loved and will be remembered for his passion and kindness.

Police say Vicente Morgado died last Saturday morning after he was electrocuted while trimming trees near power lines outside a church in La Joya. A witness told police the 54-year-old was using a pole saw while on a ladder when his saw touched the power lines, according to KVEO.

While Faith-Based Organizations (FBO) prepare and plan for cyber and physical threats, “routine” hazards may be forgotten. Electrical hazards can be a threat to FBOs, their members, visitors, and contractors. FBOs should consider including these hazards in their security planning and procedures.
